COEH is a part of
Maulana Azad Medical College and is governed by Indraprastha
Vyavsayik evam Paryavarneeya Swasthya Samiti (IVPSS).
Centre is responsible
for teaching, training and research in the field of occupational and
environmental health. Centre gets its major funding through
Directorate of Health Services, Government of NCT of
Delhi.
- Power
and duties of officers/Employees
- President: Hon’ble
Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Govt. of NCT of Delhi is
the president of the society and is the decisive authority in
all matters of the society.
- Chairman: Principal
Secretary, Health and Family Welfare of Govt. of NCT of Delhi is
the chairman of the Samiti and chairs all the executive
committee meetings. All major financial and academic decisions
are to be approved by the chairman / members.
- Member Secretary:
M.S. is responsible for day to day functioning. He reports to
the executive committee.
- Medical Officer: Is
responsible for the work assigned by the executive committee or
the member secretary and reports to the member
secretary.
- Accounts Officer: Is
responsible for dealing financial matters and budgets
etc.
- Procedure for Decision
Making
The M.S. presents the
action plan to the executive committee. Following approval and
resolution, these are put into practice.
- Norms for discharge of
functions
The discharge of the
duties is done as per the guidelines and rules of the
society.
- Rules,
Regulations for discharge of functions
IVPSS has its own
Service and Financial by laws as approved by the executive
committee. Where these are not available, the society follows
Mutatis Mutandi the orders/ instructions issued by the Government of
NCT of Delhi from time to time.
- Statement of categories of
documents held by IVPSS
Documents held by IVPSS include the annual
activities and achievement reports, information brochure for
Associate fellow of industrial health course and brochures of
workshops and trainings organized by the society. All these
documents are available in the physical form in the office of the
Samiti.
- Details of consultative committees and
other bodies
The society keeps in
touch with other government agencies such as Central Pollution
Control Board (CPCB), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC),
Inspectorate of factories, Directorate of health services (DHS) etc.
and maintains regular contact with NGO’s working in the field of
occupational and environmental health.

Members other than
member secretary are non officiating members and Member Secretary is
responsible for running the society.
The executive committee
and general body meetings are held as per the norms laid down and a
detailed report is presented to the members. The meetings also
discuss the previous decisions and future activities of the society.
The meetings are chaired by the chairman.
